The Appenninum project

We are Alessandra and Raffaele. Until a few years ago, our lives were very different: Alessandra lived in Reggio Emilia, Raffaele in Milano, both with office jobs and a daily routine far from what we now call home. In 2014, we purchased an ancient medieval tower in the small village of Gombola, without imagining how much it would change our lives. What began as a restoration dream became the starting point of a journey that led us to leave our professions, dedicate ourselves to hospitality, and choose to live in the Appennino. After an initial 8-year experience in the hospitality sector in the Reggio Emilia plains, in 2024 we decided to move our project permanently to the mountains, restoring new structures and investing everything in a territory that had won us over with its authenticity, its nature, and its extraordinary cultural heritage. Appenninum.it was born from this experience. At first, it was a tool designed to help our guests discover the area. Over time, it has become something more: an independent project that aims to showcase villages, trails, traditions, events, flavours, and people, helping to promote an Appennino that is still little known, yet capable of surprising anyone who visits. Our wish is for Appenninum.it to become a point of reference not only for those who choose to spend a holiday here, but also for all the local businesses and people who work with passion every day to keep this territory alive.
